Dhudmaras Village Recognized Globally for Sustainable Tourism

In a momentous achievement, Kanger Valley National Park in Bastar has been selected for the prestigious United Nations Upgrade Programme under the 4th edition of Best Tourism Villages, 2024. The park’s Dhudmaras village has become the only Indian village to make it to the top 20 globally, receiving international acclaim for its commitment to sustainable and transformative tourism.

This recognition is a significant milestone for Chhattisgarh, marking the village’s growing prominence on the global tourism map. Dhudmaras was also recently honored just two months ago by the Ministry of Tourism as India’s Best Tourism Village for Adventure-Based Tourism. It shared this award with Chitrakote Village, recognized for its efforts in Community-Based Tourism.
